The problem is ... That Todd, and I are both saying ... our dramatic opposition in the approach ...
and the word used by Dan solidifies the difference ...

"Here is a perfect example of the complete Christian. Fighting people killing babies along with helping the woman who started it all become a Christian. "

That phrase sets me on edge ...
Fighting people?
They will know we are Christians by our love ...
It isn't just about stopping the abortion ...that IS necessary ...but the people performing the abortions, the women getting the abortions ... are just like you and I ..they are creations of God Almighty ..who we are COMMANDED to SHARE the Gospel of Jesus Christ with ... whether we like what they are doing or not ... Go into all the world applies to them as well ...and fight them ... was NOT in the Great Commission!!!

The people who are doing this, this painful, unspeakable act ...are not monsters ...they are lost. They are people who need a Savior ...and if you FIGHT them ...they will reject your Savior.

Personally, I don't want to be responsible for tying a stone around the neck of someone and having them tossed ... I want to be the one who's example led them TO the Father ...not convinced them that Christianity was full of hypocrits and jerks ...

Fighting them?

We are to fight satan ... our battle is NOT flesh and blood ... but powers and principalities ... our fight is NOT with the doctors, nurses, counselors and women who are committing abortion ... our fighting must be done on our knees ... in prayer ...and our love must be given to these people and show them the way to the cross ...

I never said to back off completely, but to back off the current route that we were going down and shift how we do it. But can you answer me why it is that the "Sanctity of Human Life Sunday" focuses on abortion only? Isn't ALL life sacred, not just the lives of the unborn?

My stance is that we need to begin to regard all life as sacred and not just the unborn. I think that is where the shift needs to go to.

Here is a perfect example of the complete Christian. Fighting people killing babies along with helping the woman who started it all become a Christian.

"After her story became public she worked at abortion clinics and in 1995 she shocked many by announcing she had become a baptized Christian by anti-abortion group leader, the Rev. Philip "Flip" Benham, who is the national president of the Texas-based Operation Save America, formerly, Operation Rescue".

This is what needs to be done.

P.S. Backing off of people killing babies is sound very strange. The last time we backed off we found ourselves with abortion being legalized.

PK, You got to the heart of it all! LOVE WINS!!! I think that is the biggest thing the church needs to do more than anything. The Church needs to weigh all that it does in the light of "does what I am doing show the love of Christ that makes it apparent to everyone around me?"

Thanks for what you said!

I am, pro life. Hands down ... no if's and's or but's.

You will never see me protesting the abortion issue. You will see me sadly shaking my head when I see it done. You will see me talking to my christian friends who plan on doing such things ... talking to them about maybe they should re think their plans to do march against it.

I am convinced that we will never change the law ... could we? Maybe, but we won't. If we did, it would happen with so much animosity and hate and Christians would be despised more than we are now.

So, how do we stop the abortion issue? It's simple .. Paul gave us the answer ... They will know we are Christians by our love.

When someone asks us what we think, we LOVE them. When someone has had an abortion, we LOVE them. When someone feels they have no other answer ...we LOVINGLY help them find the other answers ... maybe, we BE the answer for them. We don't FIGHT against the abortion issue, we love them. WE have compassion, even if they don't agree.

The only solution, is to love them till they ask us why ...

You're right ...there are so many issues that are in the forfront that don't want to be dealt with. Poverty, even in the United States. That gets overlooked and ignored. People think that there are opportunities ... and if those in the poverty levels would just try they wouldn't have to be there ...but ... no one knows, unless they've been there ...how hard it is to be there ...and how hard the trap is to get out of. No one knows what it's like to be at the bottom of societies totem pole. And the children of these families are not getting educated and are dropping out of school in massive rates ..and committing crimes and loosing their futures because no body cares. Because of a simple thing .. no one loves them. No one cares about the situation. They are blamed for a situation that they didn't ask to be placed in, and expected to fix themselves without the proper tools to do so ... and the reality is ... what it would take to fix it is rather simple ... love ..and understanding.

Dan,

First, I am glad that you came out from behind your Anonymous label.

Secondly, I never said "Christian Organization". I said "Church", which can include organizations run by Christians. But I know from my experience in the Church that most of them focus primarily on abortion. And I know that that is really one of the biggest issues with most organizations run by Christians.

The brochures put out for voter's every year seem to emphasize that one issue. Yes, they have other issues on there, but the "biggie" is abortion. The last election exemplified this, because Christians wanted Bush back in there just in case a new Supreme Court Justice needed to be appointed and they wanted someone who would help overturn Roe v. Wade. It was the biggest issue and has been for many years now.

Thirdly, I am sick of the cop out of "the governments there won't let us do it". We can get missionaries into these closed countries, are you telling me that we can't have them bring water and try to help with sanitation?

Also, what is wrong with endorsing a website that has as it's chairman that is an ex-Soviet leader. If he is doing good in this world I will endorse him over a website filled with Christian's that I do not feel is.

Lastly, I am glad that there are many Christian's that are praying and are active. And I know that many are also doing good things. I just think that there is not enough doing so.

I do not know of any Christian organization that has tunnel vision for one issue. (list the organization that does this). The liberal media concentrates on this issue because it is important to the Democrats. It is a Christian or conservatives that has lead the way for almost every serous issue that faces us today. The issue is we cannot always act on our concerns because of a government in place. Getting water to any one, let alone Africa nations need the local and federal government to cooperate. Not to many African nations have stable governments. (be careful endorsing a web site who the chairman is a ex-soviet leader). I have to thank God we have Christian who pray & who are ACTIVE Christens. The "Church" has and is doing the job that they have been put on this earth to do.
