Simon Says > Jesus Says I saw this video from Francis Chan about making disciples and it really hits home when he compares how most of us have all played "Simon Says" as a kid, but yet we think that when Jesus says all we need...

I Love Seinfeld!

Category : TV

I love Seinfeld and think that it was one of the best sitcoms on TV right next to M*A*S*H. This is a mash-up of 100 quotes from the show. I am a firm believer that in just about every situation in life you can find a correlation to a Seinfeld episode.

Why Do You Do It?

Youth Specialties is doing something new this year called “Youth Worker Appreciation Day” and here is the promo video for it. I don’t know about you, but it brought tears to my eyes. And it is yet another example of why I love doing student ministry.

New Album From “Ragen’s Colts”

Category : Fun

RC Album CoverThis is the album cover for our latest release. Our band is called “Ragen’s Colts” and we used to be an Irish street gang in Chicago until we decided to record our own Celtic Core album. Our grand debut album is “Virtues You Never Had”, which is kind of true of our former lives.

My friend, Adam, posted this fun game on his blog where you create a band name, album title and then make the album cover. It is something that you can do in Photoshop in about 5 minutes.

Here are the rules for the game, so you can create your own:

The Rules

1. Band Name – The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

2. Album Title – The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

3. Album Cover Art – The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

Post a link to your album here, so I can see what you came up with. It is fun!

Bloggin’ Through 2007

It is that time again to recap the past year, so I went back and looked at the first post of every month and provided a link to them below with a little commentary.

JanuaryWe Interrupt This Day Of College Football…. was all about how the Detroit Lions were so disappointing once again. And the fact that there are stupid people out there still thinking it is all Matt Millen’s fault when the reality is that the Lions have sucked since William Clay Ford, Sr. bought the team. This past season ended 50 years of Lions sucking since their last championship.

FebruaryPhil Rocks!!!, which is the annual Groundhog Day report. And Jesus Camp & The Illusionist, which were reviews I did on those two movies.

March – I asked the questions of “Should Churches Be Green?” What do you think?

AprilSoul Cravings, which is a book by Erwin McManus that I read and reviewed.

MayQuestion…..

JuneBanging My Head….. because if the stupidity of my state’s government.

JulyA Generous Orthodoxy (Book Review) by Brian McLaren.

AugustServe God, Save the Planet (Book Review) by J. Matthew Sleeth. I have been reading a lot more this year than before, so I had a lot of book reviews this past year.

SeptemberWhat A Start To College Football! No need for further commentary. It is one of the lowlights in the history of Michigan football.

October – A lot happened in the month of October, but the first post was all about Amish Grace. The rest of the month was mainly about our trip aboard the Pacific Catalyst.

November – This month’s blogging was dominated by the NYWC, but it started off with a 10-20-30 Tag from my friend Adam.

DecemberiGoogle, which was my discovering of one of the coolest pages on the web. And then I shared my NYWC Pictures with my blog friends.
